Highly attentive, non-judgmental pet care in Los Angeles. We build a relationship with your dog so they feel safe, happy, and truly thrive.
Care That Goes Beyond the Walk
At The Love of Dogs, we believe caring for pets is about more than just showing up. It’s about noticing, paying attention, and loving them the way their people do. We don't just take care of dogs—we build relationships with them and with you. With decades of experience, we notice the little things, share guidance without judgment, and provide every pet with individualized care.
Our personalized care is also
training reinforcement. Our team uses
positive-reinforcement techniques to maintain consistency with your dog's manners and basic commands during every visit. By seamlessly continuing the structure you've established at home, we act as a reliable partner in your dog's ongoing behavioral development.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you ensure my dog is safe and happy when I'm away?
Our priority is safety and personalized care. For Care At Your Place services (walks/sitting), we provide GPS-tracked routes and detailed visit reports. For Care At My Place (daycare/boarding), we maintain a low staff-to-dog ratio ($\mathbf{1:2}$ to $\mathbf{1:6}$) in a calm, exclusive environment only for small-to-medium and low-energy dogs. Plus, The Love of Dogs is fully licensed, bonded, and insured.
What is your training philosophy?
We use a balanced approach rooted in positive reinforcement. Our methodology includes rewarding desired behaviors and using careful, verbal corrections and redirection to interrupt undesired actions. This builds trust, reduces anxiety, and helps your dog clearly understand expectations, which is especially effective for trauma rehabilitation.
How do I know what happened during my dog's visit?
Every service includes transparent communication through our client portal and app. You will receive a detailed Visit Report that includes a GPS route (for walks), photos and videos, and updates on your dog's emotional state, health concerns, and bathroom activity.
Do you only care for specific types of dogs?
For services at our facility (Care At My Place), we exclusively cater to small-to-medium, senior, special-needs, and low-energy dogs to ensure a calm, safe setting. For Care At Your Place (walks, in-home sitting), we welcome all breeds and ages.
What is the first step to book services?
The first step is scheduling a 30-minute Meet & Greet. This free visit allows you to meet your sitter, review your pet’s routine, and confirm access details for your home (or see our facility). Following the meet and greet, you will set up your profile and upload vaccination records via the Time To Pet portal to finalize your booking.
How does the Pet Concierge service simplify my life?
Our Pet Concierge service is designed to eliminate the logistics of pet ownership. We handle all coordination—scheduling and transportation for grooming and vet visits, organizing walks, and ensuring your home is always stocked with food and supplies. It’s a complete solution where you simply enjoy your pet, and we take care of everything else.
Are you prepared for emergencies, and who covers the costs?
Yes, we are highly prepared. In a clear medical emergency, we will take immediate action to ensure your pet's safety, even before contacting you if necessary. While we are licensed, bonded, and insured for liability, please note that the pet owner is always financially responsible for all of their pet's medical care.
What are your specific requirements for vaccinations and cancellations?
For the safety of all pets, we strictly require up-to-date Rabies and DHPP vaccines for all services. If your pet uses our facility (Care At My Place), Bordetella is also mandatory. Regarding payment, we require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations, otherwise a 50% service charge applies.
